No. 18 Gulf Coast pounds Central Alabama
PERKINSTON — No. 18 Mississippi Gulf Coast didn't waste any time Saturday, needing less than two hours to beat Central Alabama 9-0.
The Bulldogs (6-0) dropped just four games in sweeping three doubles matches, and only seven in the five singles matches that were played.
Kaylen Bond (Fr., Stone/Perkinston) won her No. 2 singles match with Anna Stringer (Fr., Stone/Wiggins) 8-0, the didn't drop a game at No. 4 singles.
Tia Topps (Fr., Grenada/Grenada) and Chasity Snyder (Fr., Florence/Florence) won their matches 6-1, 6-0 after breezing through their No. 3 doubles match 8-1.
Gulf Coast is back in action Monday to play the rescheduled match against Jones. First serves are set for 1 p.m.
