Baseball adds 13 to 2024 team

PERKINSTON — Second-year Mississippi Gulf Coast baseball coach Bob Keller has announced 13 players who will join the Bulldogs for the 2024 season.

"A lot of work goes into the addition of finding quality players to add to our Bulldog family," he said. "I would like to thank our staff and recruiting coordinator Zach Allen for the diligent work with these additions. Recruiting is the lifeblood to any program so it is vital that we continue to find high-quality character and talent to succeed in the classroom and on the field."

OF Max Askew, Resurrection Catholic School

"Max comes to us from RCS. He is a left-handed-hitting outfielder that can really make a difference with the bat and his defense. He has a pure left-handed swing with sneaky pop and can run it down in the outfield."

RHP Tanner Cranford, St Michael High School (Baton Rouge, La.)

"Tanner is a wiry-framed right-handed pitcher with a live arm. He has a lot of upside with good feel for his secondary pitches. We look for him to come in and contribute right away. He is excited about the way we develop pitchers, and so it made for an easy match in the recruiting process. I love his ceiling."

1B Peyton Dewitt, Hancock High School

"We are very excited about Peyton's power potential from the left side. He has a chance to come in and be an impact bat in the middle of our lineup."

OF Brandt Dickerson, George County High School

"Brandt is an outfielder that can absolutely fly and can be a sparkplug-type contributor to the offense. He can really run it down in the outfield as well and make things happen on the bases."

C Klay Fryfogle, George County High School

"Klay is a throwback-type player who loves the daily grind. We are pumped to get him. He plays the game the right way and gets the job done. He is a solid catcher with some ability to move around and do other things as well. He has plus makeup and is a solid leader behind the plate."

1B/OF Dawson Hall, Gulfport High School

"Dawson is a first baseman-outfielder who comes to us from a solid Gulfport program. He has a smooth left-handed swing with gap-to-gap power. He is an all-around solid kid that continues to put in the work and get better every time we see him."

INF/RHP Nick Hamby, D'Iberville High School

"Nick will come in as a two-way guy. He is a corner infielder who will be able to hit for some power. We also expect him to come in and contribute on the mound."

INF Landon Holliman, Sumrall High School

"Landon is a middle infielder with a steady glove and good range. He can run and has some versatility around the diamond. He is scrappy and loves the work."

RHP Cameron Holt, Biloxi High School

"We are very excited about Cam. Coach Allen did a great job in the recruiting process with him. He has a solid fastball with feel for an off-speed pitch to go with it! He is strong with a durable frame and true bulldog on the mound."

OF Tanner Ladner, Hancock High School

"Tanner is a very athletic outfielder who we are super excited about. He can run it down in the outfield and is a table-setter at the plate. He is as tough as they come! He is a true competitor."

OF Jacob Palazzo, Gulfport High School

"Jacob is one of the most athletic kids we have coming in. He is an outfielder from Gulfport who I can see playing any of the spots out there. He has a really compact swing and does a nice job of driving balls into the gap."

RHP Brayden Scott, Pascagoula High School

"Brayden is a right-handed pitcher from Pascagoula that has a ton of upside! He has the frame to add some velocity with good projection."

INF Aiden Seymour, D'Iberville High School

"Aiden has some very good tools. He has a plus glove, a high motor, and has a really good plan while in the box. We look for him to be a big piece to our lineup in the 2024 season."
