
5 MGCCC soccer players receive NSCAA awards
PERKINSTON — Five Mississippi Gulf Coast players earned National Soccer Coaches Association of America postseason awards, including Jordan Hall, James Beattie, Windham Whatley, Case Sloan and Madisen Giese.
Hall (5-9, 163, Fr., Royton and Crompton/Manchester, England) was named to the NJCAA Division I All-American First Team after finishing second in the country with 28 goals. He added 12 assists and was the only MACJC player named to either the men's or women's All-American teams.
Hall was also named to the All-South Region First Team. Three other Bulldogs received All-Region Second Team honors.
Beattie (5-7, 155, So., Williamwood/Glasgow, Scotland) had 12 goals and 15 assists. He also is a First Team Scholar All-American with a 3.50 GPA in sports management.
Sloan (5-11, 155, Fr., Stone/Wiggins) and Whatley (5-8, 158, Fr., Florence/Florence) were named to the All-Region second team. Sloan was a stalwart in central defense for the Bulldogs, while Whatley was named MGCCC team captain and had a goal and assist from his defensive midfield position.
Giese (5-4, So., Newaygo/Newaygo, Mich.) earned a spot on the Scholar All-American Second Team. She scored four goals and assisted on two others. Giese has a 3.88 as a pre-nursing major.
