Hall scores NJCAA Player of the Week award

PERKINSTON — Jordan Hall's monumental week earned him another award Wednesday when he picked up the NJCAA Player of the Week honor for his seven-goal performance.

"I've won the one for the MACJC, but these are obviously important because of the national exposure," he said. "That national recognition means that little bit more."

The sophomore from Manchester, England, scored five times in an 11-0 blitz of Meridian on Wednesday. He scored twice in a 4-3 overtime win against Andrew College on Saturday, including the game-winner.

"The most important one was obviously the last one," Gulf Coast coach Chris Handy said. "Whenever we get an award as an individual or a team, it goes back to the whole program. I think Jordan would agree that he couldn't do the things he does without the people behind him. He's a talented player who is super hard-working, and you don't get that combination very often. I don't think this is the last award he'll get."

Hall won NJCAA All-American honors last year, but this is his first national Player of the Week award. He's already won two such MACJC awards this year.
