No. 19 Gulf Coast beats No. 22 ICC
PERKINSTON — No. 19 Mississippi Gulf Coast completed a season sweep of No. 22 Itawamba, lodging a more convincing victory Saturday at the MGCCC Tennis Complex.
"The guys played lights out," Gulf Coast coach Gary Bourgeois said. "We had a couple courts we lost up there we won here. Patrick Roth played really outstanding, and Seth Macute played really outstanding. Those were matches we lost up there. I'll take a 7-2 victory any time against a tough team like this."
The Bulldogs (9-1, 8-1 MACJC) won their third match in as many days to extend their winning streak to four matches. All were played this week.
Gulf Coast will get a slight break from its rigorous schedule, playing next Saturday against East Central. First serves in Perkinston are set for 1 p.m.
