Foxworth named NJCAA Player of the Week
PERKINSTON — Jeremiah Foxworth's huge Homecoming game registered on the national stage, with No. 5 Mississippi Gulf Coast's wide receiving being named NJCAA Offensive Player of the Week.
The freshman from Columbia caught five passes for an impressive 173 yards in a 63-0 win over Coahoma at A.L. May Memorial Stadium. He caught a 93-yard touchdowns pass, but still averaged 20 yards per catch on his other four receptions.
Foxworth also returned a punt 15 yards.
He's the second Bulldog player to earn a weekly national award. Quarterback Landon Varnes won earlier this season.
