Gulf Coast wins eighth straight

No. 18 Mississippi Gulf Coast continued its undefeated march through 2019, winning 6-3 at Meridian on Thursday.

The Bulldogs (8-0) got a pair of wins from Evan Chubb (So., Biloxi/St. Patrick) and Patrick Roth (Fr., Pascagoula/Resurrection) to lead the way. They teamed to beat Chase Rigdon and Ethan Clopton 8-3.

Chubb defeated Max Mauney 6-4, 3-6, 10-8, and Roth beat Clopton 6-3, 6-3.

The Gulf Coast men are right back in action Saturday morning when Itawamba visits the MGCCC Tennis Complex. The first serves have been moved up to 11 a.m. to beat potential showers.
