Short, Steede named Bulldogs of the Week
PERKINSTON — Philip Short and Skyler Steede have been named Bulldogs of the Week for Aug. 30-sept. 5.
Short, a sophomore quarterback from Flowood, completed 17-of-21 passes for 228 yards in a 56-14 win at Holmes. He threw four touchdowns without an interception.
Steede, a sophomore keeper from Lucedale, had eight saves in a 1-0 loss at No. 6 East Central.
Also nominated:
Hydee Barlow, a sophomore defensive tackle from Forest, had eight total tackles while anchoring a Gulf Coast defense that held Holmes to 90 total yards in a 56-14 win. He had one tackle for loss.
Fabien Barker, a sophomore forward from Madison, scored twice and assisted on another in No. 15 Gulf Coast's 5-1 win at Itawamba.
Zach Seymour, a sophomore from Gulfport, had two saves in No. 15 Gulf Coast's 5-1 win at Itawamba.
