Graziani, Palisi named Bulldogs of the Week
PERKINSTON — Alessio Graziani and Alyssa Palisi have been named Bulldogs of the Week for Sept. 20-26.
Graziani, a freshman from Johannesburg, South Africa, won the Derrall Foreman Invitational in Cleveland in record-smashing fashion. He beat the MGCCC record for 54 holes by nine shots by finishing at 20-under to win by one shot.
Palisi, a sophomore from Diamondhead, had three goals in a 2-0 week for Gulf Coast. She scored twice in a 4-1 victory over Southwest, then had a goal and an assist to figure in both goals in a 2-0 win at Pearl River.
Also nominated:
Skyler Steede, a sophomore from Lucedale, stopped 8 of 9 shots in grabbing two winst. She had five saves in a 4-1 win over Southwest, and followed that with three saves in a 2-0 shutout at Pearl River.
Cam Thomas, a sophomore running back from Picayune, ran for 164 yards on 36 carries in No. 5 Gulf Coast's 42-37 loss at Hinds.
Mike Smith, a sophomore linebacker from Flora, led Gulf Coast's defensive efforts against Hinds. He had 9 tackles, 3 assists, 1 TFL and 1 pass break-up.
Dylan Wasson, a freshman kicker from Madison, made all his placement attempts Hinds. His third field goal with 6:12 to play gave the Bulldogs a one-point lead. He also made four point-afters.
