Bridges, Flanagan named Bulldogs of the Week
PERKINSTON — Sharisse Bridges and Melvion Flanagan have been named Bulldogs of the Week for Nov. 8-14.
Bridges, a sophomore forward from Jackson, averaged 12 points and 8.5 rebounds in a pair of Gulf Coast blowouts. She narrowly missed a double-double with 10 points and 9 rebounds in the Bulldogs' first time past the century mark in nearly 16 years, a 105-71 win over Gadsden State. Bridges was perfect from the floor on four attempts, including both shots from the 3-point line. She followed that up the next afternoon with 14 points and 8 rebounds in an 87-52 victory.
Melvion Flanagan, a sophomore guard from Alexandria, La., averaged 20.5 points in a 2-0 week on the road for Gulf Coast. He had 25 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists in a 93-90 win at LSU Eunice and scored 16 points with 4 rebounds and 2 steals in an 83-78 win at East Central.
