
Jolley, Cole-Johnson named MGCCC Student-Athletes of the Week
PERKINSTON — Jordana Jolley and Davion Cole-Johnson have been named MGCCC Student-Athletes of the Week for Jan. 16-22.
Jolley, a freshman guard from Brandon, averaged 13.0 points and 4.5 rebounds in a pair of games for Mississippi Gulf Coast. She had 15 points and four rebounds in a 77-68 loss to East Central, and followed it up with 13 points and five rebounds in a 71-59 loss at Meridian. Jolley shot 61.9 percent from the floor.
Davion Cole-Johnson, a sophomore forward from Glen Ellyn, Ill., averaged 30.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 2.0 blocks in a pair of Mississippi Gulf Coast victories. In a 79-77 win against East Central, he poured in 35 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while picking up three steals and three blocks. In a 90-83 victory at Meridian, he had 25 points and seven rebounds and also had four steals. In his last three games, Cole-Johnson is averaging 30.7 points and 7.3 assists per game.
