Estrada, Buie named MGCCC Student-Athletes of the Week
PERKINSTON — Paulina Estrada and Bianca Buie have been named MGCCC Student Athletes of the Week for May 8-14.
Estrada, a sophomore from San Luis, Mexico, and Buie, a freshman from Baia Mare, Romania, won the consolation bracket championship in No. 1 doubles at the NJCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championship in Tucson, Ariz.
Others nominated:
Izzy Werdann, a sophomore catcher from Pensacola, batted .500 in three Gulf Coast games at the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament. She went 2-for-3 in the final game of the season, an 8-1 loss to LSU-Eunice.
