MGCCC Baseball signs 17 for 2025

PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast Bob Keller and his staff have signed 17 players who will join the team for the 2025 season.

"This class has a chance to be very special," Keller said. "The coaches have worked really hard to put together a top-notch class. We are excited to get these new faces to campus and continue to build this program with high-character players and highly skilled athletes."

INF Cole Autrey, Warren Central High School

"Cole has a chance to hit for some real power. He has a great lefty swing and uses all fields. He is a corner infielder who we expect to come in and help us replace the power bats that we will be losing."

INF Naji Cain, Columbia High School

"We love the athleticism Naji brings to our team. He has a good glove and has some real feel at the plate. He runs the bases on fire and we love that here. Look forward to having him."

INF Brandon Coakley, Covington High School

"We are very excited to see Bradon in a bulldog uniform. He is a very athletic left-side infielder who is going to be able to swing it in the middle of our lineup. He is a plus defender with great makeup on and off the field."

OF Jordan Davis, Neshoba Central High School

"Jordan is the ideal table setter for a lineup. Left-handed with a great swing who knows the strike zone. He can run it down in the OF. We are excited to see him in the Blue and Gold."

C Layton Eder, Vancleave High School

"Layton is another Vancleave product who we are pumped to have. He is a plus-plus defender. He really can control a game from behind the plate. There won't be many guys running on him. He has a cannon."

OF/RHP Tri Gaughf, Harrison Central High School

"Tri will be coming to us from Harrison Central High School. He is a strong physical kid who can hit in the middle of the lineup. He can also pitch it from the left side. He is an ultimate competitor and gives it his all at all times. We are excited for Tri."

INF Asher Henley, Vancleave High School

"Asher can play multiple positions for us, which made it a no-brainer. He is going to push our team to get better every day. A great glove, grinder at the plate, and a kid of high character."

INF/RHP Trey Jacquet, D'Iberville High School

"Trey can really pick it with plenty of arm to play on the left side of the infield. He will also log some innings for us on the bump."

RHP Matt Magee, Lewisburg High School

"It's always exciting to get a player from the north half of the state. Matt can command the zone and really pitch it."

C/OF Stephen-Taylor Maust, Sumrall High School

"ST is a versatile player who can do a few things for us. He will see some time behind the plate but can also play a little outfield. His bat plays in our league as well."

RHP Trey McDonald, Faith Academy

"Trey is the ultimate competitor. He pitches it in the mid-80s and really gets after it on the bump. We saw him play here this summer and he fell in love with the place. We are really excited to have him."

OF Ellis Newman, D'Iberville High School

"Ellis is a very tooled-up player. He can really run, has a great arm, and swings it for average and pop. We look for him to come in and compete for a spot."

RHP Walker Seaman, Mobile Christian High School

"Walker has A-plus plus make-up. He comes from a great program, great family, and knows how to win. On the mound he will run it up with some really good offspeed. We look for him to make another jump once in the program and are really excited about his future."

C Landon Wallace, West Harrison High School

"Landon is a tough kind who really grinds it out. He throws and blocks really well. We look forward to adding him to our team."

LHP DJ Walls, Hattiesburg High School

"We were fortunate to see DJ a few times play on our field, and he really fit the mold of what we were looking for. We love a good lefty arm who can really pitch it, and he checks those boxes."

INF/RHP Griffin Wells, Pascagoula High School

"Griffin is the kind of player every coach wants. He is going to be a middle infielder and arm for us. He's won a lot of baseball games on the bump in high school, and we plan on him doing the same here. He is also a very smooth infielder and can handle the bat at the plate."

OF/RHP Tyler West, Vancleave High School

"Tyler comes to us from one of the powerhouse programs on the Coast. We look for Tyler to come in and throw some significant innings for us as a freshman. He has a plus breaking ball that we are excited about. He is also athletic enough to help us in the outfield."
