Jackson wins MACCC Player of the Week

PERKINSTON — Dom Jackson exploded on the scene last week with a monstrous power performance, and he's been named the MACCC Player of the Week.

The freshman outfielder from Gulf Breeze, Fla., had home runs in all three Mississippi Gulf Coast games, helping lead the Bulldogs to a .300 week.

He batted .600 for the week with a .692 OBP and 1.600 slugging percentage. Jackson drove in nine runs.

Jackson went 2-for-2 with four RBI in a 12-4 win at Baton Rouge to open the season, then went 2-for-5 in a 9-2 win over Enterprise State at Ken "Curly" Farris Field.

He closed the week with a 2-for-3 afternoon at Coastal Alabama-South, with a home run, a double and three RBI in the 8-5 victory.

Jackson is now eligible for NJCAA weekly honors, which will be announced Wednesday.
