PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast lost twice to No. 2 East Central on Wednesday here at Ken "Curly" Farris Field.
The Warriors won the opener 20-4 and closed the day out with a 5-2 win.
Aiden Seymour (Fr., D'Iberville/D'Iberville) struck out eight in 5.2 innings, with only one of the five runs charged to him being earned.
Brandon Cain (So., Mobile, Ala./Baker) had a two-run homer in the sixth. Gulf Coast had three hits in the nightcap.
In Game 1, Jayden Mark (So., Petal/Petal) had two hits, including a two-run homer. The Bulldogs managed only six hits. Dom Jackson (Fr., Gulf Breeze, Fla./Gulf Breeze) had a double.
Gulf Coast hits the road Saturday to play Coahoma. First pitch in the doubleheader will be at 1 p.m.
