Estrada, Buie sweep matches in MGCCC loss

A pair of tiebreakers were the difference as Mississippi Gulf Coast dropped a women's tennis match 6-3 at Meridian on Monday.

Paulina Estrada (So, San Luis, Mexico/Colegio Del Bosque) and Bianca Buie (Fr, Baia Mare, Romania/Gheorghe Sincai National High School) won their No. 1 singles match 8-0 over Jordyn Hull and Shelby Zachry.

They also won their singles matches while losing only one game between them. Estrada won 6-0, 6-1 over Zachry at No. 1 singles, and Buie didn't drop a game against Hull in No. 2 singles.

The Lady Bulldogs (2-2, 1-1 MACJC) split the first two sets in Nos. 3 and 6 singles, but couldn't win the tiebreakers.

Gulf Coast returns to action Tuesday when the William Carey women visit the MGCCC Tennis Complex. Action starts at 1 p.m.
