Seven straight for No. 21 Gulf Coast women

PERKINSTON — The No. 21 Mississippi Gulf Coast women's tennis team extended its winning streak to seven matches Saturday, crushing Itawamba 8-1 at the MGCCC Tennis Complex.

 

The Lady Bulldogs are 10-3 overall and 8-1 in MACJC play.

 

Gulf Coast dropped 10 games total in three doubles matches. Three Lady Bulldogs won their singles matches without dropping a game.

 

Bianca Buie (Fr, Baia Mare, Romania/Gheorghe Sincai National High School), Jenna Lyons (Fr, Pascagoula/Pascagoula) and Jillianne Craft (Fr, Gulfport/St. Patrick) won their matches 6-0, 6-0.

 

Gulf Coast has a busy week ahead, with four MACJC matches in five days. The Lady Bulldogs travel to Northwest on Tuesday, then play at Copiah-Lincoln and at East Central on Thursday and Friday.

 

They finish by hosting Meridian on Saturday. Matches start at 11 a.m.
