
Beatty, Lovertich named MGCCC Student-Athletes of the Week
PERKINSTON — Curissa Beatty and Chance Lovertich have been named MGCCC Student-Athletes of the Week for Oct. 1-7.
Beatty, a sophomore from Biloxi, scored the golden goal in Gulf Coast's 1-0 overtime win over Meridian.
Lovertich, a freshman quarterback from Jackson Prep, broke a school record with six touchdowns in Gulf Coast's 56-7 win at Southwest. He completed 26-of-31 passes for 394 yards without an interception.

C.J. Smith, a sophomore forward from Brampton, Ontario, had a hat trick in Gulf Coast's 6-1 win over Meridian.
Mason Hunt, a sophomore kicker/punter from Stone High, was perfect on eight PAT attempts and averaged 40.7 yards on three punts in at Southwest. He also averaged 54.8 yards on nine kickoffs.
Timmy Steward, a freshman defensive back from Hazelhurst, had seven tackles at Southwest. He had a sack and recovered a fumble.
