Henderson wins MACCC Pitcher of the Week
PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast's Drake Henderson turned in an overwhelming performance on the mound to help the Bulldogs close out a sweep at No. 11 Northeast Mississippi, and he's been recognized Tuesday as MACCC Pitcher of the Week.
Henderson received the award in voting by the conference's sports information directors.
The freshman lefty from Greene County was dominant to pick up a 3-2 win at No. 11 Northeast Mississippi. He struck out 10 and walked just one while allowing but three hits.
He also went 5-for-7 at the plate in a doubleheader against Copiah-Lincoln with two doubles, a homer and four RBI.
Henderson is now eligible for the NJCAA's weekly pitching award.
