Baseball games moved to Sunday

PERKINSTON — Sophomore Day for the Mississippi Gulf Coast baseball team will now take place on Sunday.

This rain that has hit the area already plus more that is expected the next two days has forced the doubleheader against No. 12 Itawamba to begin at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

It will be the last conference games for a group of 19 sophomores, who will be honored during ceremonies starting at 1:20. In addition, the Randy Rouse Award will be presented. It honors Rouse, a Gulf Coast baseball player who died of leukemia in 1992. The award is voted on by the team and is given to the sophomore who best exemplifies sportsmanship, unselfishness, and loyalty.

The ceremony and games will be streamed at https://livestream.com/mgcccbulldogs/events/9617061.
