Bulldogs receive votes in preseason poll
PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast is among teams receiving votes in the NJCAA Preseason Football Rankings released Wednesday.
The Bulldogs, who are in their first season under head coach Jack Wright, kick off the new season Aug. 30 when Mississippi Delta visits A.L. May Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
Gulf Coast is coming off a 5-4 record in 2017. The Bulldogs are one of seven MACJC teams in the rankings, including three 2018 opponents: No. 9 Jones County (Sept. 20 in Ellisville), No. 13 Hinds (Oct. 27 in Perkinston) and Holmes (Sept. 13 in Perkinston). Holmes is receiving votes, and No. 1 East Mississippi, No. 6 Northwest and No. 16 Itawamba are also in the poll.
