Avery wins MACJC Player of the Week
PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast running back Terrion Avery has been named MACJC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in a 45-24 victory over Hinds.
Avery, a sophomore Stone High, ran for 171 yards and two touchdowns. He averaged 7.1 yards on his 24 carries for a Bulldogs offense which piled up 352 yards rushing with a three-running back attack.
It's the fifth time a Gulf Coast player has won Player of the Week honors this season. Kicker/punter Mason Hunt won twice, and quarterback Lowell Narcisse and safety R'Tarriun Johnson won it once each.
