PERKINSTON — Two nights after mounting a second-half comeback to beat MACCC rival Jones, there was no such magic for No. 12 Mississippi Gulf Coast in a non-conference match against LSU Eunice.
The Bengals (5-2-2), ranked ninth in NJCAA Division I, beat the Bulldogs (6-4) 2-0 at Bary Thrash Field.
LSU Eunice scored in the 29th and 40th minutes, and the Bengals had a big advantage in possession.
It was the last non-MACCC competition of the regular season for Gulf Coast. They kick off the second half of the South Division round-robin with a game Tuesday against Copiah-Lincoln. Kickoff at Perkinston is scheduled for 7 p.m.
