No. 13 Gulf Coast needs result to host playoff game

PERKINSTON — There will be plenty at stake Tuesday when No. 13 Mississippi Gulf Coast entertains No. 3 Pearl River.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Bary Thrash Field. The game will be streamed at https://livestream.com/mgcccbulldogs/events/9908889.

There's all the usual rivalry stuff for the teams separated by 26 or so miles. There's the Bulldogs trying to hand the Wildcats their first loss of the season. And then there's the matter of postseason seeding and the possibility of hosting an MACCC men's soccer playoff game.

If Gulf Coast beats or ties Pearl River, the Bulldogs will be the No. 2 seed and get to host a quarterfinal game next week. If Gulf Coast loses to Pearl River and Jones beats Copiah-Lincoln, the Bulldogs would be the three-seed.
