UPDATE: MGCCC Men to tip at 6 pm

 UPDATE: This release has been updated to reflect a change in start time to 6 p.m.

PERKINSTON — The Mississippi Gulf Coast men's basketball team tries to stay undefeated in Dantzler Arena on Wednesday when Lawson State visits.

Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. with the game streamed at https://mgcccbulldogs.com/watch. The game was originally scheduled to start 90 minutes later, but the women's game preceding it was canceled and tip moved up.

Gulf Coast is 2-0 in the new gymnasium.

• MGCCC lost 87-84 to Hinds at Utica on Saturday afternoon. Darius Dawson had 23 points and 10 rebounds.
• Lawson State beat Coastal Alabama-South 62-56 on Friday in Bay Minette. O'Neal Merchant had 17 points.

• Gulf Coast ranks 13^th in the NJCAA with 20.6 assists per game, which is third in the MACCC. The Bulldogs lead the conference in 3-point shooting (36.4 percent).
• Donovan Sanders (So., Walls/Lake Cormorant) ranks 2^nd in the MACCC with 6.4 assists per game.
• Demarcus Powe (Fr., Meridian/Meridian) ranked eighth in 3-point shooting (41.2 percent).
• Darius Dawson (So., Sumter S.C./West Florence) is fourth in the conference in field-goal shooting (61.5 percent) and ninth in blocked shots (12).
