Men’s Basketball falls at first-place Co-Lin

Mississippi Gulf Coast couldn't slow down Copiah-Lincoln in the first half in MACCC men's basketball action on Tuesday, and the Bulldogs went on to lose 87-80.

The first-place Wolves shot better than 53 percent from the field and outrebounded the Bulldogs by 10.

Gulf Coast (11-14, 5-8 MACCC) remains in a tie for ninth place, now with East Central and Coahoma. The Bulldogs cannot finish in the top eight to earn an automatic bid, so they'll need to finish with one of the top three Massey Ratings among those teams outside the automatic spots.

Co-Lin improves to 16-5, 10-2.

Darius Dawson (So., Sumter S.C./West Florence) led Gulf Coast with a double-double. He had 20 points and 10 rebounds. He shot 9-of-13 from the field, including 2-for-3 behind the 3-point arc.

Anthony Robinson (Fr., Long Beach/Long Beach) had 14 points, and Jabarie Robinson (Fr., Raymond/Raymond) had 11. Donovan Sanders had 10 points and a team-high six assists.

Gulf Coast closes out the regular season Thursday by celebrating Sophomore Day at Dantzler Arena. Tipoff against third-place East Mississippi is set for 6 p.m. The game will be streamed at https://mgcccbulldogs.com/watch.
