No. 14 MGCCC Men shut out Northeast

PERKINSTON — No. 14 Mississippi Gulf Coast eased its way past Northeast Mississippi and stayed tied atop the MACCC men's tennis standings Tuesday.

The Bulldogs blanked the Tigers 9-0 at the MGCCC Tennis Complex. Gulf Coast is now 4-0, 3-0 MACCC. The team dropped only 11 games across the nine matches despite giving their top two players the day off.

Anderson Dulaney (So., Long Beach/Long Beach) and Orren Ladner (So., Perkinston/Stone) stepped up to No. 1 doubles to win 8-0, as did Chace Bolan (So., Laurel/Northeast Jones) and Hiram Havard (Fr., Vancleave/Vancleave) at No. 3.

Havard didn't drop a game at No. 5 singles, and Dulaney and Kyle Bond (So., Wiggins/Stone) lost only one game in two sets of their Nos. 1 and 2 singles matches.

Gulf Coast will step up in competition Friday when the team travels to take on No. 23 Copiah-Lincoln. First serves in Wesson will be at 2 p.m.
