Bulldogs fall on the road at Co-Lin

Mississippi Gulf Coast dug itself a hole in the second quarter of a non-conference women's basketball game at Copiah-Lincoln and nearly climbed out late. The Bulldogs lost 61-54 in Wesson.

TK Catchings (So., New Hebron/Simpson Academy) had 13 points to lead Gulf Coast (1-1), with Aniya Saddler (So., Columbus/Columbus) adding 12 points.

Amber Scott (So., Jackson/Hillcrest Christian) had a game-high seven rebounds.

Co-Lin (5-1) outscored 23-10 in the second quarter to lead by 11 at the break. Gulf Coast shaved half that lead away by late in the third quarter, but saw it balloon back to double-digits early in the fourth.

Catchings made a pair of shots inside sandwiched around Scott's two free throws to get Gulf Coast to 53-49 with 5:10 to play, but the Bulldogs would never get closer.

Gulf Coast will play the first game in Dantzler Arena history on Monday when the Bulldogs open the MGCCC Thanksgiving Classic. They'll play East Mississippi in a non-conference game starting at 2 p.m. The game will be streamed at https://mgcccbulldogs.com/watch.
