PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast women's basketball closes out the fall semester Wednesday when Lawson State visits.

Last Time Out

  • MGCCC pounded Hinds 63-39 on Monday at Dantzler Arena. Simaru Fields (Fr., Gulfport/Gulfport) and Tytiana Buckley (Fr., Meridian/Meridian) led the Bulldogs with 17 points.
  • Lawson State lost 82-57 on Monday to Bishop State in Mobile. Emani Wofford had 27 points and nine steals.

  • Gulf Coast ranks 6th in opponent 3-point defense (20.3 percent), 11th in field-goal defense (31.3 percent) and 12th in scoring defense (49.0 ppg). Those are second, second and third, respecitively, in the MACCC
  • Simaru Fields (Fr., Gulfport/Gulfport) is eighth in the MACCC with 17 steals.
  • Elsie Harris (So., Mobile, Ala./B.C. Rain) is second in the MACCC in free-throw shooting (83.3 percent) and eighth in steals (17).
  • TK Catchings (So., New Hebron/Simpson Academy) is fourth in the MACCC in field-goal shooting (55.6 percent).
