Bulldogs battle for control of 3rd Monday

PERKINSTON —  Mississippi Gulf Coast will try to solidify its grip on third in the MACCC women's basketball standings when the Bulldogs travel to Meridian on Monday.

Gulf Coast broke a tie with the Eagles and moved a half-game ahead Thursday by beating Itawamba while Meridian was idle. Monday's game will be streamed at https://mcceagles.live/. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.

Last Time Out

  • MGCCC beat Itawamba 73-47 at Perkinston on Thursday. Simaru Fields (Fr., Gulfport/Gulfport) and Tytiana Buckley (Fr., Meridian/Meridian) had 18 points to lead the Bulldogs.
  • Meridian beat Itawamba 66-55 at Meridian on Monday.

Previous Meeting

On Jan. 31, 2022, Meridian beat Gulf Coast 68-61 at Perkinston for a split in the season series. The Bulldogs had beaten the Eagles 64-61 at Meridian on Nov. 4, 2021.
