MGCCC women lose on the road

Mississippi Gulf Coast suffered a letdown Monday night, falling 55-47 in women's basketball action at Coahoma.

Elsie Harris (So., Mobile, Ala./B.C. Rain) had 15 points to lead the Bulldogs in Clarksdale.

Gulf Coast falls to 9-4 overall, 4-2 in MACCC play. They had a three-game win streak snapped, the last one coming Thursday at Perk when the Bulldogs handed undefeated Pearl River its first loss of the season.

The Bulldogs got off to slow starts in every quarter but battled back to trail 13-11 at the end of the first quarter. They were down 27-24 at halftime, and, after trailing by 11 in the third quarter, were just down 40-35 heading into the fourth.

They never got their offense into gear down the stretch.

Gulf Coast entertains East Central on Thursday at Dantzler Arena. Tipoff at Perk will be at 6 p.m. The game will be streamed at https://mgcccbulldogs.com/watch.
