Catchings stacks double-doubles to win MACCC Player of the Week
PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast's TK Catchings keeps stacking double-doubles, and the MACCC took notice for another two last week.
The conference sports information directors named her MACCC Player of the Week for her efforts to make Gulf Coast 2-0 on the week.
Catchings paired with Darius Dawson (So., Sumter S.C./West Florence) for a Gulf Coast sweep of the MACCC weekly honors.
She had 15 points and 14 rebounds in a 66-44 win at Hinds, followed by a 16-point, 10-rebound night in a 73-47 win over Itawamba.
Catchings shot 64.7 percent from the field and 75 percent from the foul line. She also blocked four shots.
Catchings is the first Gulf Coast women's basketball player to earn the conference's weekly award this season, and she's now eligible for NJCAA honors, which will be announced Wednesday.
