No. 15 Lady Bulldogs edge No. 22 JCJC

Jillianne Craft won the last match of the day to clinch No. 15 Mississippi Gulf Coast's thrilling 5-4 win over No. 22 Jones County at Ellisville.

Craft (So, Gulfport/St. Patrick) won her No. 6 singles match 7-5, 6-2 to keep the Lady Bulldogs undefeated six matches into the season. They are 3-0 in MACJC play.

Bianca Buie (So, Baia Mare, Romania/Gheorghe Sincai National High School) and Margarita Lopareva (Fr, Moscow, Russia/School No. 1101) won their No. 1 doubles match 8-1. They also won their singles matches in straight sets to claim two other points.

Craft teamed with Tierney Holmes (Fr, Greenwood/Greenwood) to win No. 3 doubles 8-5.

Gulf Coast plays next at Copiah-Lincoln on Tuesday. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Wesson.
