No. 16 MGCCC battles back against Co-Lin

No. 16 Mississippi Gulf Coast won four of six singles matches to erase their deficit in doubles and defeat No. 25 Copiah-Lincoln 5-4 on Wednesday in Wesson.

 

Margarita Lopareva (Fr, Moscow, Russia/School No. 1101) won in No. 2 singles, Tierney Holmes (Fr, Greenwood/Greenwood) won at No. 4, Jenna Lyons (So, Pascagoula/Pascagoula) won at No. 5 and Jillian Craft won at No. 6. All four took their matches in straight sets.

 

Craft and Holmes teamed up to get Gulf Coast's only doubles point.

 

The Lady Bulldogs (7-2, 4-1 MACJC) get right back on the courts Thursday when Holmes visits Perkinston. First serve at the MGCCC Tennis Complex is at 2:30 p.m.
