Tennis seasons start Jan. 28

PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast opens its 2023 tennis season Jan. 28 by hosting Loyola-New Orleans for an exhibition match at the MGCCC Tennis Complex. 

The Bulldogs will open MACCC play Feb. 9 when Meridian visits Perk. First serves are set for 1 p.m.

There are now 11 MACCC schools playing tennis, which means all teams will play each other once. Gulf Coast has added some extra non-conference matches to this year's schedule, including a four-day trip to Tyler Junior College to play a series of Texas teams.

The conference championship will be won in the regular season, and that champion will host an NJCAA Region 23 tournament, with the men's and women's events held at separate locations.

The women's national championship will be played in Tyler on May 6-10.
