No. 12 Gulf Coast loses to defending national champs

No. 12 Mississippi Gulf Coast faced No. 3 Tyler in its middle match of three against top-eight programs on Monday, falling 9-0 in Tyler, Texas.

Tanyaradzwa Kaome (So., Harare, Zimbabwe/The Heritage School) lost 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, and all the Bulldogs grabbed games on all six singles courts against the defending national champions.

Hayden Hensarling (So., Ocean Springs/Ocean Springs) and Kendall Burn (Fr., Wiggins/Stone) had the best doubles performance, losing 8-2 at No. 2.

Gulf Coast will close out its Texas adventure Tuesday when the Bulldogs play No. 2 Cowley. First serves are set for 10 a.m.
