PERKINSTON — No. 11 Mississippi Gulf Coast made short work of Northeast Mississippi to stay unbeaten and atop the MACCC women's tennis standings.

The Bulldogs (4-0, 3-0 MACCC) gave their international players the day off and beat the Tigers 9-0, dropping only six games across nine matches.

Bayley Askin (So., St. Martin/St. Martin) won her No. 1 singles match 6-0, 6-0, and teamed with Abigail Garman (So., Diamondhead/Hancock) to blank their No. 2 doubles opponents 8-0. Garman also won her No. 4 singles match 6-0, 6-0.

Hayden Hensarling (So., Ocean Springs/Ocean Springs) and Kendall Burn (Fr., Wiggins/Stone) didn't drop a game in their No. 2 and 3 singles matches, respectively.

Gulf Coast will face a tougher test Friday when the squad travels to play No. 21 Copiah-Lincoln. First serves at Wesson will be at 2 p.m.
