Gulf Coast will play EMCC at Clinton

PERKINSTON – The matchups for the Region 23 men's basketball tournament are official, and as expected, Mississippi Gulf Coast will play East Mississippi in the first round.
The second-seeded Bulldogs (19-6) will play the seventh-seeded Lions (18-7) on Thursday at 6 p.m. in Clinton. Both teams were eliminated in the MACJC semifinals Wednesday in Fulton.
The teams have not met this season.
The winner of that contest will play the winner of Thursday's No. 3 Southern-Shreveport vs. No. 6 Pearl River contest. That semifinal will be played Friday at 8 p.m., and the winner advances to the championship game, to be played at 8 p.m. on Sunday.
Both Region 23 finalists will qualify for the NJCAA Tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas.
