Walters, Beattie named MGCCC Student-Athletes of the Week
PERKINSTON — Soccer players Kassady Walters and James Beattie have been named Mississippi Gulf Coast Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of Aug. 29-Sept. 4.
Walters (5-9, So., Harrison Central/Saucier) stopped all eight shots she faced as the Lady Bulldogs upset No. 19 Pearl River on Friday in Poplarville.
Beattie (5-7, 155, So., Williamwood/Glasgow, Scotland) quickly converted a turnover near midfield into an assist in Mississippi Gulf Coast's only goal in a victory at Pearl River. Beattie has three assists in three games.
