Giese, Dean named MGCCC Student-Athletes of the Week

PERKINSTON — Madi Giese and Reggio Dean have been named MGCCC Student-Athletes of the Week for Sept. 26-Oct. 2.

 

Giese, a 5-foot-4 sophomore from Newaygo, Mich., continues to excel in her role as holding midfielder for the Lady Bulldogs soccer team. She helped the team to a 4-0 win over Jacksonville College and has a pair of assists on the season.

 

An emotional Dean, a 5-foot-10, 215 pound linebacker from Northeast Jones, had seven tackles, one assist, four tackles for loss, one sack and a 51-yard interception return for a touchdown to lead MGCCC to a 34-0 win over Hinds.

 

Also nominated:

 

T'Rod Daniels, a sophomore running back from Bassfield, ran 10 times for 108 yards and caught a pass for another 20 yards in MGCCC's shutout of Hinds.

 

Jonathon Newman, a sophomore from North Pike, finished tied for sixth in the MACJC golf event at Southaven, helping MGCCC win it second straight event. He tied for the 10th at Raymond where the Bulldogs finished second.

 

Jordan Hall, a freshman from Manchester, England, had three goals and an assists in a victory that extended MGCCC's win streak to eight. He picked up his fifth hat trick in six games in a 5-1 win over Jacksonville College. He ranks second in the country with 20 goals in 10 games.
