Betz, Beatty named MGCCC Student-Athletes of the Week
PERKINSTON — Owen Betz and Curissa Beatty have been named MGCCC Student-Athletes of the Week for Aug. 21-27.
Betz, a sophomore keeper from St. Stanislaus, allowed only one goal from the run of play against No. 1 Tyler in a 2-1 loss and shut out NAIA Texas College JV, an NAIA squad, 6-0.
Beatty, a freshman defender from Biloxi, had a goal in both of Mississippi Gulf Coast's road wins last week. She had the only score in the Lady Bulldogs' victory Friday at Southwest and added another the next day in a 4-0 win over Southwest Tennessee.
