
Lewis named MGCCC Student-Athlete of the Week
PERKINSTON — Josh Lewis has been named MGCCC Student-Athlete of the Week for April 30-May 6.
Lewis, a sophomore left-hander from Theodore, Ala., threw a two-hitter in a 9-1 win over East Central. He struck out 9 in an eight-inning, complete game. Lewis was also named the winner of the Randy Rouse Award during Sophomore Day ceremonies. The award honors Rouse, a Gulf Coast baseball player who died of leukemia in 1992. The award is voted on by the team and is given to the sophomore who best exemplifies sportsmanship, unselfishness, and loyalty.

Alden Davis, a freshman first baseman from Pascagoula, batted .615 with hits in all four games to extend his hitting stream to nine. He went 4-for-7 in a pair of wins over East Central and had a home run with 3 RBI in the second game. He went 3-for-3 in the nightcap against Northeast to help earn a split
