Spivery, Sims named MGCCC Student-Athletes of the Week

PERKINSTON — LaRaymond Spivery and Eanna Sims have been named MGCCC Student-Athletes of the Week for Nov. 27-Dec. 3.

Spivery, a freshman from George County, averaged 18.5 points, 8.5 assists, 4.5 steals and 4.0 rebounds in a pair of Mississippi Gulf Coast games last week. He narrowly missed a double-double in a 97-75 win over the William Carey JV in Hattiesburg, scoring 13 points and dishing 9 assists while picking up 5 steals. Spivery followed that up with a 24-point, 8-assist performance in an 85-72 win at Delgado.

Sims, a sophomore forward from Jackson, narrowly missed a pair of double-doubles for Mississippi Gulf Coast last week. In a 78-72 loss at LSU-Eunice, she had 10 points and 10 rebounds. She had 12 points and 8 rebounds in a 54-19 win at Delgado. She also averaged 2.5 steals, 2.0 blocks and 1.5 assists.
