Thigpen, Green named MGCCC Student-Athletes of the Week

PERKINSTON — Shelli Thigpen and Qua'darius Green have been named MGCCC Student-Athletes of the Week for Nov. 20-26.

Thigpen, a freshman from Wylie, Texas, had 20 points and 5 rebounds in Mississippi Gulf Coast's 78-72 loss at LSU-Eunice. She also had 3 assists and 3 steals in the Lady Bulldogs' only game of the week.

Green, a sophomore from McComb, had narrowly missed a pair of double-doubles as Mississippi Gulf Coast split a pair of games. In a 70-55 loss to Baton Rouge, he had 13 points and 10 rebounds. He had 16 points and 8 rebounds in a 75-56 win over Southern-Shreveport, and for the week he shot 68.4 percent from the floor.
