Bulldogs face ICC in Region 23 Tourney
PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast will tipoff the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament on Wednesday in Clinton.
The Bulldogs (16-7) will take on Itawamba (18-6) at 1 p.m. at A.E. Wood Coliseum on the Mississippi College campus.
Both teams were knocked out of the MACJC Tournament this week in Scooba short of the finals. East Mississippi, which went to win the state title, beat the Bulldogs 53-47, while ICC lost in the semifinals to Jones 67-56.
The winner of Wednesday's opening game will play the winner of the EMCC-Northwest game in the semifinals on Thursday at 5 p.m. The championship game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday.
Gulf Coast advanced to the region championship game last year after beating LSU Eunice and Copiah-Lincoln. Both those teams are in the other half of this year's bracket.
