Booker, White named MGCCC Student-Athletes of the Week

PERKINSTON — D'yasmond Booker and Daphane White have been named MGCCC Student-Athletes of the Week for Jan. 27-Feb. 2.

Booker, a freshman from Pascagoula, filled up the stat sheet for Gulf Coast during a 1-1 week, nearly averaging a double-double. He had 26 points and 11 rebounds in a 70-69 win at Hinds and added three assists, four steals and two blocks. He scored 12 and 8 more boards in an 88-69 loss at East Central.

White, a sophomore center from St. Martin, shot nearly 70 percent from the field in a 2-0 week for Mississippi Gulf Coast while averaging 23.0 points and 6.5 rebounds. She had 17 points and 4 rebounds in a 62-55 win at Hinds, then had 29 points and 9 boards in a 66-64 win at East Central.
