No. 12 Bulldogs suffer 1st loss
PERKINSTON — No. 12 Mississippi Gulf Coast lost 7-2 to No. 10 Jones on Tuesday at the MGCCC Tennis Complex. The Bulldog suffered their first defeat of the season.
Valeria Callejo-Vivar (So., Madrid, Spain/I.E.S. Ortega y Gasset) won 6-0, 7-5 at No. 2 singles for Gulf Coast's first point.
Dallas Tanner (So., Hattiesburg/Oak Grove) picked up the other at No. 5, winning 6-4, 2-6, 10-4.
Lauren Sullivan (So., Laurel/Laurel Christian) played a tough match at No. 4 singles, losing the first-set tiebreaker 13-11 before falling 7-5 in the second.
Gulf Coast (7-1, 6-1 MACCC) will play Monday at Itawamba. First serves in Fulton will be at 2 p.m.
Jones is 9-0, 7-0.
