
Cain, Lindsey named Bulldogs of the Week
PERKINSTON — Naji Cain and Abby Lindsey have been named Bulldogs of the Week for March 17-23.
Cain, a freshman second baseman from Columbia, batted .417 during a 2-2 week for No. 21 Gulf Coast. He had four hits, including a double, in a 9-8 loss in 13 innings at Meridian.
Lindsey, a freshman designated player from Decatur, Ala., hit her third home run in four games during a 1-1 week for No. 21 Gulf Coast. She hit .667, doubled and had a 1.333 slugging percentage.

Samuel Marsh, a sophomore from Monroe, La., struck out eight while taking a hard-luck 3-0 loss at Meridian. He allowed five hits and walked one.
Jordan Mitchell, a freshman from Natchez, won all four matches for No. 13 Mississippi Gulf Coast during a 2-0 week. He won his two singles matches while dropping eight games and teamed with two different partners to win his two doubles matches.
Karley Rouse, a sophomore from D'Iberville, beat Meridian 8-2 with a six-hitter. She allowed just one earned run, striking out four.
Dallas Tanner, a sophomore from Hattiesburg, won her three matches for No. 12 Gulf Coast, including stepping up to win No. 3 singles 6-0, 6-0 against Southwest.
