
Mitchell, Campbell named Bulldogs of the Week
Brooklyn Mitchell and Stanley Campbell have been named Bulldogs of the Week for March 24-30.
Mitchell, a freshman shortstop from Gulfport, batted .462 for No. 22 Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Campbell, a sophomore from London, England, finished second at the Lou Hart Invitational in Meridian. He shot 4-under and led the No. 1 Bulldogs to yet another MACCC tournament win. Gulf Coast won by 17 shots.
Also nominated:
Kaden Irving, a sophomore corner infielder from Gautier, batted .462 with a homer and four RBI during a 3-1 week for Gulf Coast. He had a four-hit game in a 7-0 win over Copiah-Lincoln, then had a game-winning two-run homer in a 4-2 win in the nightcap.
Eli Waters, a sophomore righty from Petal, threw eight shutout innings to beat Copiah-Lincoln 7-0. He struck out 11 while allowing just three hits and a walk.
