
Batson, Davis named Bulldogs of the Week
PERKINSTON — Caroline Batson and Jordan Davis have been named Bulldogs of the Week for March 10-16.
Batson, a freshman outfielder from Wiggins, was a doubles machine while hitting .571 during a 5-1 week for No. 20 Gulf Coast. She had four doubles and drove in four runs without striking out. Batson walked twice and got hit four times for a .700 on-base percentage.
Davis, a freshman outfielder from Neshoba, batted .500 with a double and four RBI in the leadoff position during a 4-0 week for Gulf Coast. He had three hits and two RBI in a 6-2 win at Itawamba and with four walks had a .688 on-base percentage.

Valeria Callejo-Vivar, a sophomore from Madrid, Spain, won her No. 2 doubles match against Jones.
Stanley Campbell, a sophomore from London, England, finished second at the GlenLakes Invitational in Foley, Ala., He shot 5-under in the final round to finish the 54-hole event at 9-under. Gulf Coast finished second.
Olivia Falcon, a sophomore from St. Amant, La., had a 1.79 ERA while going 2-0 in four appearances during a 5-1 week for No. 20 Mississippi Gulf Coast. She threw 6.1 innings of relief to beat No. 21 Itawamba 3-2, and came out of the pen to throw 5.2 innings of two-hit relief to let the Bulldogs come back and beat Lake County 13-5.
Vicente Faria, a sophomore from Lisbon, Portugal, won his No. 2 singles match in a showdown against Jones. He also teamed with Moritz Stroebel to win No. 1 singles.
Eli Waters, a sophomore righty from Petal, threw seven scoreless innings to help beat Itawamba 4-1. He allowed just three hits, striking out five.
